"It's a feelin' all right Saturday night, and that's how we do it 'round here"

The last few days have been a blur. I went to work, did my thing there, and went home to either sell bedding to students or to hand out their keys.

Yesterday, I finally got my Volksbank debit card. I am officially the proud owner of a German bank account!

While I initially wanted to spend some time outside (either hiking up Aachelm or walking around the trails by the Fußball stadium), it was forecasted to rain throughout the day. I was not feeling getting caught in the rain today. I, instead, decided that today was going to be a lay in bed in my pajamas and read all day kind of day here in Reutlingen.

I ended up making some tortillas so I could make breakfast tacos this morning and then something with tortilla shells tonight for dinner.

As the day wore on and I just hung out on the ground level of Wurm-Haus, I slowly realized that it was silly of me to ACTUALLY believe what the meteorologists had predicted - the day turned out to be sunny, and I just ended up hanging out in my room all day. Not that I truly minded. I got to catch up on a good book. :)

Around 5, I heard a knock on my door - the Valpo students had returned! I grilled out with Eric and Sam and ended up having a phenomenal dinner. I made some rice and then cooked up a piece of chicken in one foil packet, then zucchini and onions in another packet of foil. It took a while for everything to cook, but it was so worth it! I had chicken and onion tacos for dinner with a side of grilled zucchini and rice. Yum!

Since the Valpo students were back, I decided that I may as well shower and celebrate their return! It was nice, too, because I had made friends with some international students this past week and got to introduce them to the Valpo people! We ended up stopping, as usual, at the Irish Pub.

Hanging out at the Irish Pub with our Banana-weizen, Cola-weizen, and Hefeweizen beers!

We ended up hanging out with Augusto, from work, and some of his German friends! Unfortunately, it did not go as well as imagined. Much like when I was abroad with Amy, the group of girls that I was with at the Irish pub barely spoke any German, while the German guys didn't speak much English! Language barrier problems...

Once we finished our drinks at the Irish Pub, we headed over to a place called Haus-Bar. We found it to be really similar to a Valpo house party, which was strange! It was really hot, the area we were all crammed into was tiny, and the floors were sticky. We stayed there all of about 5 minutes.

Allie and I grabbed some McDonalds and met up with Tammi and Amanda at the bus stop to head back to the Hochschule on the night bus.

Off to bed for now, and then to Hohenzollern Castle and Tübingen tomorrow!
